Papa Johns Announces Leadership Appointments to Support Ongoing Transformation Strategy

Papa Johns International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) today announced several changes to the Company’s leadership team to further support the Company’s ongoing strategic transformation.

The following appointments will be effective immediately:

  • Chris Lyn-Sue, who serves as Senior Vice President, General Manager of International, has been named Global Chief Marketing Officer. Lyn-Sue has extensive global experience in brand management, commercial strategy and business transformation, including serving as interim Chief Marketing Officer in 2024. Since joining Papa Johns in 2022, he has been instrumental in advancing the Company’s international expansion and brand evolution, including seven consecutive quarters of positive international comparable sales. Prior to joining Papa Johns, he held global brand leadership and marketing roles at Popeyes, Restaurant Brands International, and Bacardi.

  • John Matter, who serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Interim Head of North American Development, has been named to the newly created position of Global Chief Development Officer and Assistant Corporate Secretary, which will be responsible for leading growth and development strategy, including global expansion, franchise development, strategic partnerships and other opportunities to create shareholder value. Matter has more than 25 years of legal and strategic advisory experience, including over 15 years in the restaurant and franchising industry. Since joining Papa Johns in 2013, he has supported a broad range of matters across international and domestic operations, franchising, corporate governance, enterprise risk management and other strategic business initiatives. In 2024, he also led the international development team on an interim basis, helping drive international expansion and market development efforts. Matter will maintain his corporate securities responsibilities as Assistant Corporate Secretary.

  • Caroline Miller Oyler, who serves as Chief Administrative Officer, has been named Chief Legal and Administrative Officer. Ms. Oyler will reassume direct leadership of the Legal function in addition to overseeing human resources and culture, legal, risk, safety and security, internal audit and facilities. She will continue in her role as Corporate Secretary.

  • Chris Phylactou, who serves as Managing Director UK, Europe & Canada, has been named Senior Vice President, International. Phylactou has extensive industry experience and strategic leadership across sourcing and global brand operations. Since rejoining Papa Johns in 2020, he has held leadership positions across the international business, including as Vice President of International Supply Chain. Prior to rejoining Papa Johns, he spent eight years at TGI Fridays, ultimately serving as Managing Director for Europe, and he also led a consultancy business, working with clients including Wagamama and Norwegian Cruise Line.

In connection with these appointments, Jenna Bromberg will be departing Papa Johns. Bromberg will serve in an advisory capacity through August 28 to support a seamless transition.
