Developed After Data Revealed Nearly 40% of Business Aviation Safety Incidents Occur During Ground Operations
ROCKVILLE, MD, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Nimbl, business aviation’s most popular manuals and safety management platform, has introduced its new Ground Operations Checklist today, a practical resource designed to help ground crews identify risks and mitigate safety incidents during routine ground operations. The checklist was developed after Nimbl’s analysis of operational data submitted to its platform revealed nearly 40% of reported incidents and hazards occurred during ground operations. This data shows that many safety incidents aren’t flight related, highlighting the need for ground crews to also identify and address hazards.
The data, which was released in Nimbl’s Annual Safety Report, prompted the company to develop a comprehensive ground operational checklist to assist ground crews of all sizes in identifying potential hazards, mitigating risk, and strengthening operational safety.

Nimbl identified three of the most common ground operations risks — suggesting steps ground ops teams can take to reduce them:
• Aircraft Towing & Parking — procedures to prevent ground collisions and safely position arriving and departing aircraft without putting aircraft already on stand at risk.
• Aircraft Fueling — procedures to ensure the aircraft receives the correct grade, quantity, and quality of fuel, and that fueling operations are conducted safely.
• Facility — procedures to ensure the facility itself, including equipment, signage, and structural elements, meet safety standards.
