The free tool turns a store's abandoned checkouts, average order and margin into a PDF with the cost of AI phone follow-up, the break-even recovery rate and the consent rules to check before calling.
Best AI Answering Services, an independent comparison site for AI answering and AI calling tools, has added a free abandoned cart recovery case study for online stores. A store owner answers a few questions in about two minutes and receives a PDF that prices AI phone follow-up for the store’s volume.
New York City, October 6, 2026 — Best AI Answering Services today announced the launch of its free abandoned cart recovery case study, a tool that shows online stores whether calling shoppers who leave checkout is likely to pay for itself. The case study works from the store’s answers about its checkouts, order value and margin, together with published prices and a cautious planning rate, and it is delivered by email as a PDF at no cost.
For prices and published results, the case study uses Outcraft AI (outcraft.ai), an AI sales agent platform that calls, texts and emails shoppers who abandon a checkout and connects to Shopify, CheckoutChamp, Klaviyo and other store tools. Outcraft publishes its prices by monthly lead volume, for example $300 a month for up to 100 leads and $2,000 a month for 751 to 1,000 leads, falling below $1 a lead from 4,000 leads, billed monthly with no setup fee.
Why Abandoned Cart Recovery Matters for Online Stores
Baymard Institute puts the average documented online shopping cart abandonment rate at 70.22%, based on 50 studies (updated September 2025). When shoppers who were only browsing are set aside, the most common reasons US shoppers gave for leaving during checkout were extra costs such as shipping, tax and fees (40%), slow delivery (20%), not trusting the site with their card details (19%) and having to create an account (18%). The research was conducted independently and is not affiliated with Best AI Answering Services.
Cart abandonment solutions range from reminder emails and text messages to phone calls placed by a person or by an AI voice agent. A reminder email can repeat what was left in the cart, while a call can answer the question that stopped the purchase, such as delivery times, the total cost or how payment is secured.
How the Free Abandoned Cart Recovery Case Study Works
The online store version of the case study asks:
• which store platform the business uses (Shopify, CheckoutChamp, WooCommerce or another)
• about how many checkouts are abandoned each month
• the average order value
• how abandoned checkouts are followed up today
• whether the store sells subscriptions or gets repeat orders
• where most customers are, and whether the checkout already asks permission to call and text
• the store’s gross margin (optional; the tool assumes 30% if it is left blank)
From those answers, the case study works out the gross profit on one recovered order, the price of an AI sales agent at the store’s volume, and how many recovered orders a month would cover that price. It compares the result with a cautious 5% recovery rate used for planning and with the rates the vendor’s customers have published. Each answer range is turned into one representative number, and the PDF shows every assumption, a verdict that runs from a strong fit to not worth calling yet, and a setup checklist. For stores with fewer than 50 abandoned checkouts a month, or orders under $50, the case study says calls are unlikely to pay and points to lower-cost follow-up by email and text.
An Abandoned Cart Recovery Example
In one example run through the tool, a Shopify store with 750 to 1,000 abandoned checkouts a month and an average order of $100 to $250 is modeled at 875 checkouts and a $175 order. At a 30% margin, each recovered order is worth $52.50 in gross profit. Outcraft’s published price at that volume is $2,000 a month, so the store would need to recover about 38 orders a month, or 4.4% of abandoned checkouts, to cover the plan. That is below the 5% planning rate, so the case study rates the store a strong fit.
“An abandoned checkout is a customer who was ready to buy, and whether a phone call is worth it depends on the store’s own numbers,” said Claudiu A., Managing Director of Best AI Answering Services. “The case study runs those numbers with published prices and a cautious recovery rate, so an owner can see how many recovered orders would cover the cost before signing up for anything. When a store is too small for calls to pay, it says so and points to email and text instead.”
Abandoned Cart Recovery Results Published by Outcraft AI Customers
Outcraft has published results from online stores that use its AI agent for abandoned checkouts:
• Taima Titanium, a titanium cookware brand: Outcraft reports that its AI abandoned cart campaign generated over $180,000 in revenue at a conversion rate of over 29%, and that post-purchase upsell outreach added nearly $42,000. Calls made up 69% of the initial outreach, text messages 26% and email 5%.
• Pulsetto, a company in Vilnius, Lithuania, that makes a vagus nerve stimulation wearable: Outcraft reports that its real-time abandoned cart campaign regularly converts over 20% of abandoned carts, and that Pulsetto’s Outcraft campaigns, which also include post-purchase and customer education calls, have generated more than $100,000 in additional revenue every month for the last six months, with a sustained return on investment of over 30 times.
These results were published by Outcraft in its customer stories and were not independently verified by Best AI Answering Services. The case study plans with a 5% recovery rate, well below these published figures, so that its verdict does not depend on a store matching the best results.
Consent Rules for Abandoned Cart Recovery Calls
Each store case study includes the calling rules for the store’s market. In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission ruled in February 2024 that calls made with AI-generated voices are covered by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (FCC 24-17), and FCC rules require prior express written consent for telemarketing calls that use an artificial voice (47 CFR 64.1200). In the European Union, automated marketing calls need prior consent under Article 13 of the ePrivacy Directive. For stores that are a fit for calls but do not yet ask permission at checkout, the setup checklist starts with the consent wording to add: the business name, calls and texts with an AI voice, and a statement that agreeing is not a condition of buying, shown as an unticked box.
Availability of the Abandoned Cart Recovery Case Study
The case study is free at bestaiansweringservices.com/ai-calling-roi and takes about two minutes. It is delivered as a PDF by email. Best AI Answering Services does not call the people who request it and does not share their details with the vendors it writes about. The same tool also prepares case studies for software companies following up new leads and for local service businesses comparing AI receptionists. The site’s guide to AI abandoned cart calls compares AI calling with call centers and text messages.
